May 19 - After much thought, analyzing and examination of 'all' factors, I've decided to rescind the height requirement for Junior Competitors who will want to enter the Adult Ability Divisions of Jack & Jill Swing. My decision is based on five factors:

1) Juniors are very talented dancers

2) It's a luck of the draw contest

3) in preliminary rounds, there are multiple chances for everyone to 'earn' their way forward to the semi or final round of competition

4) I have complete faith in our judges to select the 'best and most deserving dancers' to progress to the final round, and usually have judges evaluating only men while others evaluate only women in the preliminary round giving ample time for proper and credible assessment of performances by all contestants

5) Juniors are motivated by the points system and cherish the idea of advancing up the 'ability' ladder just like everyone else. We are a 'family' sport.

I will stand by my original premise that a minimum of five young women and five young men will be required to stage the Juniors Jack & Jill Swing Contest. z

May 18th - Juniors Jack & Jill. We have concerns because we've not seen many 'juniors' early registrations. Seeing so many junior competitors at Capital Swing, we thought it appropriate to bring back the junior divisions to FreZno so we added Juniors Strictly, and Juniors J & J. At this time, we simply want to get the word out that if there are not five young women and five young men entered in the Jack & Jill, we will sadly cancel that contest and allow the juniors to enter the adult ability divisions with the stipulation that they meet a minimum height requirement of 4'10" tall. C'mon juniors - rally support from your friends and head to FreZno next weekend. z

May 17th - Jack & Jill Swing Contest Registration: To improve the efficiency of Jack & Jill Swing Contest "Sign-Ups" at the Frezno event - we have extended the early sign-up session on Saturday from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m.. All Jack & Jill Swing sign-ups must take place Saturday only - before 2 p.m..

May 16th - Exciting news for Country Two Step dancers. The FreZno event is the debut event for the 'newly' formed Country Two Step Tour. It's the best in 'social' dance competition with points tracking at sanctioned events. Read all about it here......

May 10th - The Radisson Hotel has just released 10 more sleeping rooms at our $102.00 group rate for those still seeking hotel accommodations. Call them between 8:30 and 4:30 Pacific Time at 559-268-1000. z

The Radisson Hotel has only 7 rooms left (as of today, May 2nd) - most of them smoking rooms. They will try to clean them.....and they will be taking a 'wait-list' for any non-smoking rooms that come available - this does happen due to cancellations. Call them asap.....559-268-1000 and tell them you're with the Dance Classic.

FYI - the Radisson has a 'very strict' no pets policy. Call them for further information if this is a concern.

The Super 8 Hotel still has rooms available - walking distance at the back corner of the Radisson Hotel. The Super 8 has a 2 night minimum stay with a complimentary continental breakfast each day - just $65.00 per night for one bed, and $75.00 for two beds. Call them at 559-268-0621.

The early deadline for discounts on registrations has passed. You may still pre-register using 'at the door' pricing, or you may register when you arrive at the event. We do NOT accept credit or debit cards and prefer cash or money orders.
